Sleights claim big scalp in Marshall Shield event

Sleights Bowling Club started the week with an excellent result in the second round of the Marshall Shield by beating Kirkbymoorside at home.
This is a club knockout for teams of 16 men.
The following day, the club's two teams, who are now both in the first division of the Scarborough League, met for the first time.
On this occasion, the red team beat the blue team by 7½ points to ½.
To end the week, the club beat Cayton away in a mixed friendly.
Results: Sleights beat Kirkbymoorside at home 86-61: E White, E Sanderson, T Reid, R Clark, lost 18-22, J Pybus, S Harrison, B Lawson, JR Moore won 22-16, K Thompson, P Shardlow, J Bedford, I Harrison, won 27-13; T Bogg, T Sefton, M Dean, J Rudsdale won 19-10.
Sleights beat Cayton away 91-57: E White, D Welford, M Swalwell lost 12- 16; J Pybus, A Fletcher, J Moore won 19-8; S Harrison, D Marshall, P Harrison won 23-11; I Harrison, I Pearson, J Blythman won 22-7; L White, JR Moore, B McLean drew 15-15.
