Edwin soars to clean sweep at Anglesey

MOTOR racer Edwin Jowsey swept to four wins in an impressive day's racing in Anglesey, North Wales.
This cliff-top track was established in the 1960s but has had more than £10m of European money spent on this cliff top circuit.
It is 2.10 miles round the circuit, which has lots of sharp and sweeping bends and hills.
The weather was expected to be poor but the sun came out. As well as the modern F3, there was an invite for the Classic FJs – Jim Clark type F1 cars – and because Edwin, of Aislaby, had this car to drive he entered for two races in this and two races with the F3.
In the officially timed practice, Edwin gained the fastest time in both cars, giving pole position for the Sunday.
The first race was with the Lotus Cosworth FJ where he gained a win after a 23-minute race.
The next race was in the F3 which he led from pole to finish. He won the third in the Cosworth without being challenged and, competing in the F3, this race was stopped and started due to the fact there were two cars spinning, but Edwin once again won the race.
This gives Edwin four wins which his family believe was probably only equalled by Jim Clark.
Thanks to chief engineer Cephus Thorpe from Cambridge and helpers Colin Gibbons, Matthew Trousdale, Dan Smith and sponsorship manager Nick Henderson.
