Finally, they played the third round match in the 16-man team Marshall Shield, at home against the star-studded Nafferton.

Sleights put up a wonderful fight but finally lost by only 17 shots against this array of national and county players – and the large number of onlookers were treated to an evening of high class bowling. The score was 79-62 to Nafferton.

More recently, Sleights played friendly matches against Filey and Snainton, losing both.

While the Scarborough District Veterans’ League First Division is now halfway through and the Sleights blue team is in third place behind Flamborough and Scarborough A, the red team is fourth with a game in hand.
