EVENTS

QUIZ night at the Plough Inn at 9pm every Tuesday. Good prizes, raffle, refreshments, all welcome.
QUIZ night at the Salmon Leap Hotel at 9pm every Wednesday, all welcome.
DOMINOES drive at the Salmon Leap Hotel at 8pm every Tuesday, all welcome.
LENT lunches will be served in Church House on Saturdays during Lent from 12.15pm commencing 20 February, £2 per person, all welcome.
ESKDALE and Littlebeck, A Way Through the Wilderness, is a reflective, meditative Lent course at Briggswath and Sleights Methodist Church on Thursday evenings from 25 February to 25 March, 7.15pm for 7.30pm start, ending no later than 9.30pm. 11 March, Becoming Messengers; 18 March, Encountering God; 25 March, Receiving Fresh Strength. Everyone welcome.
SLEIGHTS Cricket Club AGM is on Friday 19 March at the Salmon Leap Hotel, 7.30pm for 8pm. All welcome, new members also welcome.
SLEIGHTS Singers are taking part in the Palm Sunday Service at Briggswath and Sleights Methodist Church at 6.30pm on Sunday 28 March.
CHURCHFIELD Surgery patient participation group coffee morning is on Saturday 13 March, 10am-noon at Church House. Free coffee and biscuits, meet members of the group and chat about issues of interest to patients, all welcome.
THE Good News Christian Library will be at the following venues: Friday 12 March, 2-3pm, 39 Hermitage Way, Eskdaleside, homeof Bernard and Beryl Kerr; Saturday 13 March, 10-11am, coffee morning at Briggswath and Sleights Methodist Church.
TABLE top sale in the village hall on Monday 5 April, 10am-3pm. Tombola stall, refreshments, entrance free. For table bookings contact Pauline Routledge on 810569, proceeds for the village hall.
WOMEN'S World Day of Prayer today at 2pm in Briggswath and Sleights Methodist Church, speaker Sister Rachel, all welcome.
ST John's Church Mothers' Union meets on Wednesday 17 March at 10.45am for a Lent course, Lent for Everyone. On Thursday 25 March at 11am there will be a Lady Day Service at Middlesbrough RC Cathedral, preacher the Rev Jeremy Fletcher.
WHITBY Flower Club coffee morning is on Wednesday 17 March, 10am-noon, at 4 Garbutts Yard, Carr Hill Lane, Briggswath, all welcome.

CLUBS
SLEIGHTS School Kids Club is an after-school club at Sleights School and is open every day. For details ring 0774 881 6998 or 810396.
WEIGHTWATCHERS in the village hall on Thursdays, 6-7pm with new leader Sara. For details ring 08457 123000.
INGHAM Park Play Area Committee meets in the village hall on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm.

SLEIGHTS Singers meets in Church House at 7.15pm on Thursday evenings, new members welcome. It has now started its summer season with new music for the July concert in Sleights Village Hall. SLEIGHTS pre-school group Sunshine Corner in the grounds of Sleights C of E School, Monday to Friday mornings, 9-11.30am during term-time. Vacancies for children two to five years old from September. To reserve a place contact Mrs Kemp on 897652.
ST John's Church Mums and Toddlers Group meets in Church House on Mondays during term time 1.30-3pm. Children 0-five welcome with parents/carers welcome. Activities include creative artwork, music and cookery as well as play, £1 per class includes refreshments. For details ring Janet MacDonald on 810275.
MUMS and Toddlers Group meets in Sleights Village Hall on Thursdays, 1.30-3.30pm, £1 per class including refreshments. Children 0-4 years most welcome. Wide range of toys for all ages. SLEIGHTS YCA meets on the second Monday of the month, 2.30-4pm in Sleights Village Hall. Speakers at all meetings, new members always welcome. Contact the secretary on 810362 for details.
WHITBY Flower Club meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 2pm in Sleights Village Hall. New members welcome. For further information contact Mrs J Frater on 810278. There will be no Whitby Flower Club during the month of August.
