JEAN Fairey presided over the June meeting. After the minutes were read and approved, Jean Prior gave the treasurer's report.

After the recent charity, fish and chips and bingo evening £100 was sent to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and £57 to Whitby Talking Newspaper. Jean thanked members for their generosity in giving raffle prizes and their participation.
Names were taken for the mystery trip on 21 July and a trip on Thursday 6 August to Scampston Walled Garden and afternoon tea and a visit to the Lavender Fields at Wintringham.
Guest speaker was Susan Pilkington-Hanna who gave a talk on Theatre Costume Design. She brought in details of her projects and showed how to dress a mannequin and create an Edwardian lady's dress. Muriel Spenceley gave the vote of thanks.
The next meeting is on Monday 6 July and guest speaker is Deb Gillanders and the theme is basket making.
