MARGARET Story welcomed 19 members to the November meeting held in the parish hall.
The secretary read the minutes of the last meeting and the newsletter was discussed.
Invitations from Goathland, Sleights and Sneaton to attend their Christmas party had been received. Names were taken for the bus outing to the YCA carol service at York Minster, also for those wishing to go to the Christmas lunch at The Stables.
The speaker was Gillian Ware who had prepared credit crunch ideas for decorating the home using greenery from the garden and hedgerows. Also wrapping gifts in either spare wallpaper or brown paper, finished off with colourful ribbon.
Eileen Perrett won the bowl of bulbs donated by Gillian. Margaret Story gave the vote of thanks. Winnie Benson and Margaret Alton served refreshments.
